Shikshan Prasarak Mandal is a well known body in the field of education in Vidarbha region.
SPM was established in the year 1928 with an objective to avail education facilities to the students from such urban & rural area where practically no educational facilities were available.
SPM has the following branches namely SPM School, Junior College, Lokmanya Tilak Mahavidhyalaya & Institute of Pharmacy. All the courses running successfully in magnificent building with well equipped laboratory, Library, Sports etc.
In 1961 Lokmanya Tilak Mahavidhyalaya was started with Arts stream. In 1962 the commerce stream was added, in 1974 the science faculty was introduced and full pledge Junior & Degree College developed. In 1983 the Mandal added Diploma in Pharmacy for producing quality Pharmacists who could serve community and hospital Pharmacy. In 1990 the M.C.V.C. was added in 1997 Computer B.Sc. was introduced & in 1998 M.A. in Marathi & History were added. In 2000 M.A. in English was added.
Institute of Pharmacy, Wani was established in the year 1983. Institute is duly approved by Government of Maharashtra, Directorate of Technical Education, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and Pharmacy Council of India. Institute is also affiliated to the board of Technical Education Mumbai.
Institute has well developed infrastructure and well equipped laboratories with up to date Library and reading room. Teaching staff are well qualified and experienced. All the lecturers are senior lecturers with hard working non teaching staff. Dress code and strict discipline is maintained for the students.
Institute is getting excellent result with above 70% passing every year. Institute is maintaining good academic standards. Aluminy of this institution reached to higher position in the profession and successful business. Some of the aluminy went abroad also.
